About this place
Faced with a menu full of choices at lunch, one diner asked for a recommendation and chose the ox-tail soup, later recalling how generously filled it was. Alongside ox-tail soup, Saishu Meika serves seolleongtang and dogani-tang, giving diners a chance to compare Korean soups when they want a bowl to take centre stage. Another visitor ordered seolleongtang and dogani-tang with a savoury pancake, and said the seolleongtang reminded them of the version they had eaten in Korea.
For a meal with a few dishes to share, options include seafood and kimchi pancakes, japchae and stir-fried pork. One diner commented on the generous size of the pancake, while another enjoyed a pancake with namul. The main-dish menu also includes doenjang jjigae, kimchi jjigae and sundubu jjigae, as well as yukgaejang and cold noodles, offering choices from warming stews to chilled noodles.
Stone-pot bibimbap is described as rice served with namul and other toppings in a heated stone bowl. Mix it well and the heat of the bowl gives the rice a lightly toasted flavour. There is a lunch menu, and the restaurant offers table service for dine-in meals. At Saishu Meika, diners can choose between a substantial bowl of soup and a meal built around dishes to share.
